In the summer of 2024, laptop manufacturers have introduced a new lineup of Windows laptops called Copilot+ PCs, featuring the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon X series processors. The ARM-based Oryon CPU in these laptops delivers impressive performance, comparable to the Apple M3, while maintaining high efficiency. Additionally, all Copilot+ PCs come with an integrated Hexagon NPU capable of up to 45 TOPS. Here is a list of the Snapdragon X Elite laptops available for consumers in 2024.
1. Surface Laptop 7th Edition and Surface Pro 11th Edition
Microsoft has unveiled two Copilot+ PCs, the Surface Laptop 7th Edition and the Surface Pro 11th Edition, both powered by Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus processors. While Microsoft has not specified the exact SKU of the X Elite processor, it is likely to be the X1E-80-100 variant (based on Geekbench listings), which is the second most powerful chip in the lineup.
The X1E-80-100 variant provides a dual-core boost of up to 4.0GHz, while the new Surface Pro includes a 120Hz OLED display on the X Elite variant. Both Surface devices have undergone a design overhaul, featuring thin bezels, a rounded display, and an improved haptic trackpad.
2. Asus Vivobook S 15 (S5507)
Following the Surface devices’ launch, Asus has introduced its first Snapdragon X Elite laptop, known as the Copilot+ PC. The Asus Vivobook S 15 features the X1E-78-100 variant, offering a maximum frequency of up to 3.4GHz, along with a 120Hz OLED HDR display.
3. Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x and ThinkPad T14s Gen 6
Lenovo has unveiled two Snapdragon-edition laptops: the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x and the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6. They are equipped with the third chipset in the Snapdragon X Elite lineup (X1E-78-100), featuring 12 CPU cores but without a dual-core boost on any cores.
4. Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge
Samsung has launched its Galaxy Book4 Edge laptop with the most powerful variant of the Snapdragon X Elite processor, the X1E-84-100. This processor is known to consume around 80W and offers a dual-core boost up to 4.2GHz on the top-end variant. Additionally, Samsung offers a laptop with the second-most powerful variant, the X1E-80-100, which also includes 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of eUFS storage. Notably, Samsung is offering a 50-inch 4K TV with the purchase of the Galaxy Book4 Edge in some regions, along with a free Samsung tablet in select markets.
5. Dell XPS 13 and Inspiron 14 Plus
Dell has unveiled its XPS 13 laptop, featuring the second-most powerful variant (X1E-80-100) of the Snapdragon X Elite lineup. Additionally, the new Dell Inspiron 14 Plus comes equipped with the Snapdragon X Plus (X1P-64-100) processor, offering 512GB of NVMe SSD storage and 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The XPS 13 boasts a stunning FHD+ 120Hz display.
6. Acer Swift 14 AI
Acer has introduced its first Snapdragon X Elite laptop in the Swift lineup. The Acer Swift 14 AI is powered by the third variant (X1E-78-100) of the processor, which does not offer a dual-core boost but features a 12-core CPU clocked up to 3.4GHz.
7. HP OmniBook X 14 and HP EliteBook Ultra G1q
HP has also joined the next-gen Copilot+ PC trend with the HP OmniBook X 14 and HP EliteBook Ultra G1q, both featuring the Snapdragon X Elite processor (X1E-78-100). These laptops are lightweight and thin, typical of ultrabooks. HP claims its Copilot+ PCs can provide a battery life of up to 26 hours.
