Following the release of HyperOS 2.0, Xiaomi is now gearing up to launch HyperOS 3.0, built on Android 16. The company has officially revealed the rollout date for its latest OS version.
Xiaomi has confirmed that HyperOS 3 will be launching on August 28, 2025, at an event in China at 3:00 PM CST (12:30 PM IST). Fans will be able to watch the launch live on the Mi China website, with the livestream accessible right beneath the HyperOS 3 banner.
The upcoming HyperOS 3 update is set to deliver major improvements over HyperOS 2.0, including a refined animation engine with smoother visual effects, enhanced system responsiveness, a more polished UI, and an overall optimized user experience.

It will also integrate several Android 16 features such as Advanced Protection Mode, Live Updates, Material 3 Expressive, improved predictive back gestures, and photo picker search.
Sharing his thoughts on the launch, Lu Weibing, Xiaomi Group Partner, President, and President of the Mobile Phone Division, emphasized that HyperOS 3 has been built around user experience and feedback to refine its UI.
Xiaomi describes Surge OS 3 as a fresh starting point, with a main focus on delivering smoothness and responsiveness. The aim is to give users a natural, fluid experience while ensuring the system remains intuitive, easy to use, and highly satisfying.

This matters because HyperOS 2.0 wasn’t a big leap from HyperOS 1.0, but with HyperOS 3.0, Xiaomi is making its first-ever dedicated OS launch event, which suggests a significant upgrade for Xiaomi, Poco, and Redmi devices.
On the smartphone front, the Xiaomi 15, 15s Pro, 15 Pro, and 15 Ultra are confirmed to support the HyperOS 3 beta in China. Similarly, the Xiaomi Pad 7 series tablets will also receive the update.
Beyond the latest flagships, a wide range of older Xiaomi, Poco, and Redmi devices across budget, mid-range, and premium categories are also on the HyperOS 3 supported devices list.
