Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has announced a long-awaited feature for WhatsApp on Android: the addition of a “search by date” function. This enhancement, already available on other versions of the app, aims to streamline the process of finding specific conversations.
With this new feature, Android users will now have the ability to pinpoint a conversation by selecting a specific date, rather than navigating through a broader date range. Zuckerberg showcased the functionality by effortlessly locating a past discussion centered around karaoke.
To utilize this feature, users must first access the details of the desired contact or group chat. From there, tapping on the search button beneath the contact or group name will reveal the calendar icon. By selecting this icon, users can easily navigate to the desired date and swiftly locate the conversation they seek.
In addition to this update, the latest beta version (2.24.5.17) available through the Google Play Beta Program is set to introduce another helpful feature. According to WaBetaInfo, users will soon be able to share QR codes directly from the chats tab, facilitating smoother connections and interactions with others.
