WhatsApp is constantly receiving updates and improvements. A new feature is currently in development, with Meta aiming to enhance privacy and declutter the user experience. If all goes as planned, you’ll soon be able to have an alternate profile for the same WhatsApp account. This feature is expected to improve privacy and overall security.
WhatsApp’s Alternate Profile Feature: What to Expect?
A new feature called ‘Alternate Profile‘ has been discovered by the WABetaInfo WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.23.24.4. This feature will be accessible in the Profile menu. Essentially, it allows users to create an alternate profile that will be visible to individuals who are not authorized to view the creator’s primary profile photo. Depending on your privacy settings, those outside your contact list will only see this alternate profile photo and name, without access to your real information.
The alternate profile feature has the potential to greatly improve privacy and conceal personal information. It will be especially useful for individuals in businesses who receive frequent contact from unknown numbers, allowing them to maintain privacy while interacting. Additionally, if WhatsApp introduces usernames in the future, the alternate profile feature could assist with convenient categorization.
The rollout of the WhatsApp alternate profile feature hasn’t been confirmed yet. According to WABetaInfo, it’s currently under development and will be introduced in a future app update. In the meantime, you can explore the recently added WhatsApp Channels for some fresh features. What do you think about the upcoming WhatsApp alternate profiles?
