Despite the excitement surrounding new announcements such as Silent Hill and Death Stranding, gaming events often include remasters as well. While some gamers may not initially gravitate towards remastered titles, their interest may pique upon learning that Until Dawn is receiving the remaster treatment with Unreal Engine 5.
What’s New in Until Dawn Remastered
As stated in the PlayStation blog post about Until Dawn, the game will undergo a multitude of enhancements. Firstly, it will be entirely rebuilt on Unreal Engine 5, promising VFX that exceed expectations. Given that the original Until Dawn, released for PS4, was a groundbreaking horror experience, the developers are keen on preserving its essence for the remaster.
Ballistic Moon also notes that they have employed a “broader cinematic tonal color palette and new perspectives” to add depth and emotion to the story.
While the core story remains unchanged, the creators have promised to delve into unexplored emotions in this version of Until Dawn. Additionally, players can look forward to a new third-person camera mode to heighten the excitement. However, the standout feature of the enhanced version is the addition of a new soundtrack composed by legendary horror composer Mark Korven.
Despite the various changes, the storytelling style will remain faithful to the original, allowing players to relive the horror of that fateful night. Until Dawn’s remastered/enhanced version is set to release on PS5 and PC within a 2024 timeframe.
As we eagerly anticipate the Until Dawn movie, this enhanced version promises to be a delight for horror enthusiasts. What are your thoughts on this remaster? Share your opinions in the comments below!
