Nacon, known for Robocop: Rogue City, has unveiled their latest Hollywood-themed game project, this time focusing on the Terminator universe. The new open-world game is titled Terminator: Survivors.
Terminator: Survivors First Glimpse
Revealed during NACON CONNECT 2024 in a cinematic trailer, creative director Marco Ponte shared details about Terminator: Survivors. The game immerses you and up to three friends in a post-apocalyptic open world.
In this harsh world, your group of survivors must scavenge for resources and expand your base while facing Skynet’s Terminator army, determined to destroy you. Additionally, there are human threats to contend with.
This single-player and co-op experience is set in 2009, after the first two Terminator movies. With John Connor’s resistance yet to form, the fate of humanity rests in your hands.
The game’s development isn’t surprising. In a July 2022 Nacon event, an Untitled Terminator game was mentioned. At that event, Nacon stated,
“We’re excited to hint at what’s to come. As huge fans of ’80s movies, our team at Nacon Studio Milan is hard at work on the first survival game set in the Terminator universe.”
Nacon Studio Milan, known for Rims Racing and TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3, is the primary studio behind the project. With the game expected to be in early access in about seven months, a gameplay trailer could be on the horizon.
Terminator: Survivors Release Date and Platforms
Terminator: Survivors will debut on PC first, launching on Steam Early Access on October 24th, 2024.
Nacon has confirmed that versions of Terminator: Survivors for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S are currently in development. Consequently, these versions will not be available alongside the PC release in October. If you own a PS5, you’ll need to wait a bit longer.
Given the success of survival games like Palworld, the performance of Terminator: Survivors will be intriguing to watch. Are you eagerly anticipating the upcoming Terminator survival game? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
