Stalker 2 Delayed Again, New Release Date Set for November 2024

The anticipation for the upcoming STALKER 2 game is undeniably high. As a long-awaited sequel to one of the best first-person open-world action-adventure shooters by GSC Game World, it has kept both fans and newcomers eagerly awaiting its release. However, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine has posed challenges for the game’s development. Although progress has been steady, the developer isn’t quite ready to allow players to revisit the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone just yet.

Today, it was announced that STALKER 2: Heart of the Chornobyl has been delayed once more, missing its new release date of September 5, 2024. The game is now set to launch on November 20, 2024, for PC and Xbox Series X/S.

Yevhen Grygorovych, Game Director at GSC Game World, stated that the additional two months will be used to address bugs, which they refer to as “unexpected anomalies”—a nod to the anomalies that roam the STALKER map.

Despite the delay, the game has been accompanied by a new trailer offering a preview of STALKER 2. Additionally, GSC Game World has announced an upcoming developer deep dive with Xbox.

The deep dive will take place on August 12, 2024, and will include interviews, a behind-the-scenes look at the development process, new game footage, and a complete walkthrough of a story quest. If you’re eagerly anticipating the game, there’s a lot to look forward to!

In the meantime, GSC Game World has released a new STALKER Trilogy collection for PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. This bundle brings together the first three STALKER games, allowing console players to experience these cult classics.
