Qualcomm is set to unveil its Snapdragon X series on April 24th. However, ahead of the official announcement, the Snapdragon X Plus has made an appearance on Geekbench. The Snapdragon X Series comprises two variants: the top-tier Snapdragon X Elite and the slightly less powerful Snapdragon X Plus.
Listings on Geekbench ML (here and here) reveal that the Snapdragon X Plus SoC’s X1P64100 variant features 10 CPU cores with a base frequency of 3.42GHz. It uses two CPU clusters, one with 6 cores and another with 4 cores. The device is running on Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview (64-bit) and is equipped with 16GB of RAM.
The leak aligns with our previous report indicating that the Snapdragon X Plus could feature 10 CPU cores and potentially include 5G connectivity. Additionally, there are indications that other variants of the SD X Plus may offer 8 CPU cores.
Geekbench ML has provided two scores for the Snapdragon X Plus. When utilizing the Oryon CPU with the ONNX ML framework, it achieves a score of 2,410. On the other hand, when using the Adreno GPU with the ONNX DirectML framework, it scores 1,903. This suggests that the Oryon CPU is more adept at handling AI tasks compared to the Adreno GPU.
According to a report by Windows Latest, the scores are likely derived from the upcoming Surface Pro 10 device. The Geekbench listing displays “OEMMN OEMMN” as the device name, which corresponds to Microsoft’s internal codename for the Surface Pro 10. This suggests that Microsoft may be planning to launch Surface devices in two variants, the X Elite and X Plus.
Microsoft has already scheduled its next major event for May 20th. Recently, the first look of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 (2024) laptop was leaked, indicating that it will come equipped with the Snapdragon X Elite chipset. Additionally, a new report suggests that the highly anticipated AI Explorer feature may be exclusive to Snapdragon X series processors.
