Qualcomm has introduced the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, a new addition to its mid-range mobile platform lineup in the Snapdragon 7 series. This chipset is expected to debut on an upcoming Redmi smartphone set to launch in China shortly. Read on for more information.
Details of Snapdragon 7s Gen 2
The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, built on a 4nm process, boasts an octa-core configuration with clock speeds reaching up to 2.4GHz. It combines a Kryo CPU with an Adreno GPU. This chipset is equipped with a 12-bit Qualcomm Spectra Triple ISP, offering support for 4K HDR photos, an AI-based De-Noising Engine, and Qualcomm Low Light to enhance low-light photography. It can handle a single camera of up to 200MP, 4K video recording at 30fps, and various other features.
Furthermore, it incorporates the Qualcomm AI Engine, Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, and Qualcomm Sensing Hub, enhancing its AI capabilities. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 features the Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF System, as well as Snapdragon Elite Gaming with features like variable-rate shading. It also supports Quick Charge 4+ and FastConnect 6700.
In terms of connectivity, it offers support for Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 (including Bluetooth Low Energy Audio), NFC, Qualcomm aptX Lossless technology, and more.
As confirmed that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 mobile platform is set to power the upcoming Redmi Note 13 Pro, scheduled for launch in China on September 21. Alongside it, the Redmi Note 13 and the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ will also be introduced. It’s worth noting that the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ was previously confirmed to be equipped with the latest MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset.
The new Redmi Note 13 lineup maintains a resemblance to its predecessor but will bring about several enhancements, as revealed in a recent Weibo post. These improvements may include a high-resolution ISOCELL HP3 200MP camera, a 120Hz AMOLED display, rapid charging capabilities of up to 120W, and more.
