Samsung has introduced its latest portable projector, the Freestyle Gen 2, as a successor to last year’s model. While it retains a similar design, the new projector brings an exciting addition – the capability to play games from anywhere. Here’s a breakdown of its features:
The Freestyle Gen 2 can project content onto any surface, creating a screen size of up to 100 inches. It offers Full HD resolution for sharp visuals. The projector comes with a cradle stand that enables a 180-degree rotation, even allowing content viewing on the ceiling. The Auto Leveling, Auto Focus, and Auto Keystone technologies work together to enhance picture quality, while Samsung’s PurColor technology ensures more accurate and vibrant colors. Smart Calibration further refines colors and contrast.
The projector includes Samsung’s Gaming Hub, granting access to a collection of 300 games that can be played from various locations. You can stream these games through platforms such as NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Xbox, Amazon Luna, Utomik, Antstream Arcade, and Blacknut. Gamers can enhance their experience by connecting a Bluetooth controller. The device is also compatible with popular apps such as YouTube and Spotify, enabling music streaming and online content viewing.
Running on Tizen OS, the projector offers access to apps, Samsung TV Plus, and live TV channels. It boasts increased memory capacity. The Samsung Freestyle 2 supports screen mirroring via the SmartThings app and comes with a SolarCell remote that charges through solar panels, promoting sustainability. The projector is equipped with 5W speakers that incorporate Dolby Audio and built-in 360-degree sound, in addition to supporting Alexa.
Pricing and Availability
The cost of the Samsung Freestyle Gen 2 projector is set at $799.99 (~ Rs 66,500), making it more budget-friendly compared to its previous iteration. It’s currently available for pre-order in the US, and if pre-ordered by August 30, customers can receive a Freestyle IP55-rated case for free.
