Last week, Android fans were relieved when Samsung began rolling out One UI 7 for its Galaxy S24 series. Many were eager to see the update reach last year’s foldable lineup as well. However, it looks like Galaxy S24 users will have to wait a bit longer, as Samsung has paused the global rollout of One UI 7.
This news comes from trusted Samsung leaker IceUniverse on X, who shared a post stating that a “serious bug” was found in the Korean version of One UI 7 for the Galaxy S24 series. As a result, the company has abruptly halted the update.
The discussions around this halt have also appeared on Samsung’s Korean forum. Initially, the issue was believed to be limited to the Exynos version of the Galaxy S24 devices. However, it has now been confirmed to affect the Snapdragon variants of the Galaxy S24 as well. Another tipster, Tarun Vats, further revealed that the firmware file for One UI 7 has been removed from Samsung’s servers.
Samsung has yet to release an official statement regarding the issue. Users who have already updated their devices to One UI 7 will receive a patch to fix the bug. However, there is no confirmed date for when the rollout will resume. This delay means that the already postponed One UI 7 update will be pushed even further back for Samsung’s entire lineup, particularly for older devices.
This situation doesn’t reflect well on Samsung, especially considering the amount of time it took to roll out the update in the first place. The delay will likely lead to even more backlash from users. It also raises the question of why this bug wasn’t caught during the beta phase. While we wait for an official statement from Samsung, let us know what you think about this delay. Have you updated your Galaxy S24 to One UI 7 yet?
