Slim phones are making a comeback, and Samsung is leading the way with its upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge. With rumors swirling about Apple’s work on an iPhone 17 Slim or Air model, Samsung moved quickly to take the lead. While several specs for the Galaxy S25 Edge have surfaced over the past few months, its official launch date remained a mystery until now.
In a newsroom post, Samsung has officially announced that the Galaxy S25 Edge will launch on May 13 at 9 AM KST (or May 12 at 5 PM PT). The device was initially slated for an April release, but delays related to One UI 7 pushed the event back.
By pushing the boundaries of mobile technology, we’re going beyond what users expect and opening up new possibilities. The latest addition to the Galaxy S series is both a powerful AI companion and an engineering marvel, merging flagship-level performance with superior portability.
In the announcement, Samsung also confirmed that the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature a 200 MP main camera, consistent with earlier rumors. This wide-angle lens is said to offer “pro-grade capabilities,” according to the company.
In case it wasn’t already clear, the Galaxy S25 Edge marks Samsung’s return to the slim phone segment. At just 5.84 mm thick, it’s impressively thin yet still packs solid hardware, including the 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The device will be available in three colors: Black, Blue, and Silver.
