Samsung Galaxy Book4 Laptop Lineup with Intel Core Ultra CPUs & RTX Revealed!

Samsung has unveiled its latest lineup of Galaxy Book4 laptops, coinciding with the release of Intel’s Meteor Lake. These new laptops showcase cutting-edge innovations in the PC industry. Notably, the Galaxy Book4 Ultra stands out by incorporating Nvidia RTX 40 series graphics, a significant addition to Samsung’s offerings.

The lineup introduces three variants, with the Galaxy Book4 Pro & Ultra featuring a 16-inch OLED display boasting a 16:10 aspect ratio. While the sizes vary, all laptops sport impressive displays that share similar features, including touchscreen functionality.

The display across all laptops boasts a resolution of 2880×1800 and a brightness of 400 nits, delivering a vivid visual experience. A standout feature is the support for a 120Hz refresh rate with VRR, complemented by a wide color gamut covering 120% DCI-P3.

Let’s dive into the lineup’s specifics, detailing the unique specifications and features of each model. All Samsung Galaxy Book4 laptops are equipped with Samsung Knox Security, studio-grade dual microphones, AKG quad speakers, and a 2MP FHD Webcam.

Connectivity remains consistent across the lineup, featuring Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The versatile port selection includes 2x Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, 1x USB Type-A port, an HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD slot, and a 3.5mm headset jack for comprehensive connectivity options.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra

The new Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra raises the bar with an option of up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and the choice of Nvidia’s RTX 4070 graphics card, featuring 8GB GDDR6 VRAM. The base variant of this model opts for the RTX 4050, equipped with 6GB of GDDR6 memory. It’s an enticing option for content creators, capitalizing on the prowess of Nvidia’s RTX 40 Series GPUs.

Touted as the “most powerful Galaxy Book yet” by Samsung, the base model of the Book4 Ultra starts with a Core Ultra 7 processor, all Intel chips being Intel Evo Edition certified.

With a maximum capacity of 64GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage, this laptop offers substantial performance and storage capabilities. The 76Whrs battery capacity hints at robust usage, although specific duration details haven’t been disclosed. However, given its Intel Evo certification, users can expect solid battery life, likely exceeding 10 hours on a single charge.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro lineup comes in three distinct variations. Firstly, there’s the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 in a 16-inch size, boasting a versatile hybrid build that seamlessly transitions between a laptop and a tablet.

Additionally, Samsung offers the Galaxy Book4 Pro in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes without the 360-degree hinge. The 14-inch variant weighs 1.23kg, while the larger 16-inch model weighs 1.56kg, and the 360-degree 2-in-1 model weighs slightly more at 1.66kg.

In terms of battery sizes, the Book4 Pro (16-inch) packs a 76Whr battery, providing ample power. Meanwhile, the smaller Book4 Pro (14-inch) is equipped with a 63Wh battery. It’s worth noting that the 14-inch models lack a numpad, a feature present in all other variants.

The Galaxy Book4 Pro lineup opts for the latest Intel Arc integrated graphics instead of Nvidia graphics found in the Book4 Ultra. While these Intel Arc graphics might offer comparatively lower performance than the RTX 4070 on the Book4 Ultra, they still present a highly competent GPU. Intel’s revealed performance benchmarks of its latest Core Ultra processor, coupled with Arc graphics, highlight its proficiency, even in content creation tasks.

The star of the show remains the Intel Core Ultra processor. The Galaxy Book4 Pro models will feature up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, while the base variants will start with the Ultra 5, a significant highlight driving performance across the lineup.

Pricing & Availability

Samsung plans to roll out its Galaxy Book4 laptops in stages, starting with a release in Korean markets in January 2024. Following this initial launch, the Galaxy Book4 lineup will gradually become available in select markets, although specific countries haven’t been disclosed yet.

As of now, Samsung has not disclosed the pricing details for the different Galaxy Book4 models. Updates regarding pricing and the global release of the Core Ultra series will be shared as soon as available. For those eager for an Intel 14th Gen laptop, the MSI Prestige Series is reportedly set to launch this month, offering an alternative option.
