Samsung recently unveiled its Galaxy Book4 series laptops featuring Intel Core Ultra processors. Alongside, a new variant of the Samsung Galaxy Book4 “Edge” (Model: NP940XMAA-EXP), made an appearance on Geekbench, running on the Snapdragon X Elite chipset. This upcoming laptop by Samsung is powered by the “X1E80100” variant of Qualcomm’s chipset.
On Geekbench 6, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge with Snapdragon X Elite scored 2,785 in the single-core test and 13,925 in the multi-core test. These scores surpass those seen on other devices running the Snapdragon X Elite chipset. The listing reveals that the Snapdragon X Elite on the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge boasts a base frequency of 4.01GHz and is equipped with 12 Oryon CPU cores (8+4).
The laptop comes with 16GB of RAM and runs on the “Balanced” power plan on Windows 11 Home. While the Snapdragon X Elite falls short of surpassing Apple’s latest M3 processor, which features 12 CPU cores, it outperforms Apple’s M2 and M1 processors.
Qualcomm’s PC chipset has yet to surpass the 3,000 mark on the single-core Geekbench test while running Windows. When the Nuvia-designed chipset was announced in November 2023, Qualcomm demonstrated that the 80W version of the Snapdragon X Elite scored 3,238 in the single-core test and 17,181 in the multi-core test. However, this demonstration was on Linux, not Windows. We will have to wait to determine the power envelope of the X Elite featured in the Galaxy Book4 Edge.
Additionally, a new leak on the X series reveals that the Snapdragon X Elite has as many as eight SKUs. In addition to the Snapdragon X Elite, there is also a “Snapdragon X Plus” variant, which likely features fewer cores, reduced frequency, and lower power consumption.
