The Redmi series has consistently prioritized affordability without compromising on specifications, and this year, it seems like the Xiaomi sub-brand is taking its game to the next level. Alongside the launch of the Redmi Buds 5A, Robot Vacuum S10, and Garment Steamer, the brand has introduced the Redmi Pad SE. While the Redmi Pad SE has been available globally for some time, it’s great to see another budget-friendly tablet making its way to the subcontinent. Here’s everything you should know about the Redmi Pad SE.
Redmi Pad SE Build and Display
The Pad SE is equipped with an 11-inch FHD+ LCD featuring a 90Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz. With a maximum brightness of 400 nits and coverage of 70% of the NTSC color space, the display is optimized for indoor use, ideal for streaming videos or browsing the web.
The Pad SE’s chassis is crafted from aluminum, lending it a sleek and slim profile. Its design is minimalist, featuring only a rear camera module positioned at the top and a vertical Redmi logo. While the bezels may appear relatively large for 2024 standards, they are typical for a budget tablet.
Audio, Connectivity, and Cameras
The Pad SE boasts four speakers with Dolby Atmos support and Hi-Res audio certification, delivering immersive sound quality. Additionally, it features a 3.5mm headphone jack for added convenience. In terms of connectivity, the tablet offers Wi-Fi support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, along with Bluetooth 5.0. It also includes a USB 2.0 Type-C port at the bottom for charging. Unfortunately, there’s no cellular variant available.
The rear camera is an 8 MP f/2.0 snapper, while the front camera features a 5 MP f/2.2 shooter. The rear camera can record videos at both 1080p and 720p, both at 30fps, while the front camera offers the same capabilities.
Battery and Software
The Redmi Pad SE comes equipped with an 8,000 mAh battery, supporting 10W charging. It runs on MIUI Pad 14, based on Android 13, with Xiaomi pledging future support for HyperOS.
