Poco has officially taken the wraps off its global Poco F8 series, which currently includes two flagship models – the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra. Both phones arrive with top-tier hardware, including Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, massive batteries, and a standout audio innovation that’s bound to impress both music lovers and binge-watchers.

Poco F8 Ultra Debuts with 2.1 Channel Bose Speaker System

The Poco F8 Ultra features a large 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an eye-searing 3,500-nit peak brightness. Meanwhile, the F8 Pro opts for a more compact 6.58-inch AMOLED panel, also running at 120Hz. Both phones support FHD+ resolution and 2,560Hz PWM dimming for reduced eye strain.

Although each model comes with “Sound by Bose,” the F8 Ultra takes things a step further by integrating a dedicated Bose subwoofer directly into its camera module. This setup enables true 2.1-channel audio, backed by a 250mm² vibration chamber capable of pushing out bass as low as 200Hz at 7W.

Under the hood, the Poco F8 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, featuring Nuvia’s 3rd-gen Oryon cores. The F8 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Both devices ship with UFS 4.1 storage and LPDDR5X RAM.

For photography, both models sport triple-camera arrays using Xiaomi’s latest Light Hunter 800 and 950 sensors. The F8 Ultra uses a 50MP Light Hunter 950 as its main camera, while the Pro gets a 50MP Light Hunter 800. On the front, both phones feature a 20MP OV20B40 selfie camera.

The telephoto systems differ as well:

  • Poco F8 Pro: 50MP OmniVision OV50M with 2.5x optical zoom
  • Poco F8 Ultra: 50MP Samsung JN5 with a 5x periscope lens

For ultrawide shots, the Ultra gets a 50MP OV50M sensor, while the Pro includes an 8MP OV08F.

Battery life is another strong point, with the F8 Ultra packing a 6,500mAh cell and the Pro offering a 6,210mAh unit. Both support 100W fast charging, and the Ultra also includes 50W wireless charging.

On the software front, the lineup launches with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, making them among the first Poco devices to run the updated OS. New features include AI-powered lock screen wallpapers and deeper cross-ecosystem connectivity.
