Earlier this year, OnePlus introduced its inaugural tablet, the OnePlus Pad, offering an attractive package featuring a 144Hz display, a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, all priced at under Rs 40,000. Now, the company appears to be gearing up for the launch of a more budget-friendly tablet, potentially named the OnePlus Pad Go, to compete with the likes of Realme and Oppo. This new tablet appears to be on the horizon, with OnePlus starting to tease its arrival in the Indian market.
A New OnePlus Tablet on the Horizon?
OnePlus recently posted a teaser on X (formerly Twitter) with the tagline “What’s work without a little play!” This teaser strongly suggests a new tablet is on the horizon, although the company has not confirmed anything and is inviting users to make their best guesses. This is likely related to the rumored OnePlus Pad Go, which is expected to be a budget-friendly option, potentially priced under Rs 20,000 to compete with devices like the Realme Pad 2 and the Redmi Pad.
The fact that there is a dedicated microsite for this product hints at an imminent launch. However, a recent report by Yogesh Brar (via MySmartPrice) suggests that the OnePlus Pad Go might be slated for a January 2024 release. This timing could coincide with the launch of the OnePlus 12 series, although there might still be some changes in the plans.
Details about the OnePlus Pad Go remain scarce. Based on the teaser, it seems the design might continue the aesthetics of the OnePlus Pad, featuring a distinctive circular rear camera module placed in the center. The tablet may also maintain a flat-edged and lightweight design.
In terms of specifications, the OnePlus Pad Go is expected to be a more budget-friendly alternative to the original OnePlus Pad. This could involve using a mid-range chipset and possibly a smaller display and battery. However, concrete details about the tablet’s specifications are still unknown. To recap, the OnePlus Pad was equipped with an 11.6-inch 2.8K LCD display featuring a 144Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, a 9,510mAh battery with 67W SuperVOOC fast charging, quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, and ran on Android 13-based OxygenOS 13.1, among other features.
More information about OnePlus’ upcoming tablet or other products is expected to be revealed when OnePlus officially announces them. Stay tuned for further updates. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments if you’re interested in an affordable OnePlus tablet.
