A few days ago, Nothing posted twice on X: first, a picture of Aerodactyl, a Flying/Rock type Pokémon, and second, a “+” emoji. These posts have now become clearer, as the brand has announced that the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus is launching soon.
Nothing recently posted on X with an image stating “Plus. More. Extra.” and announced the upcoming launch of the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus on 31 July. This indicates that the company is preparing to release an enhanced or larger variant of the Nothing Phone (2a) (review), which debuted just a few months ago.
The Phone (2a) stands out as one of the top choices in the mid-range category. It boasts a collaboration between Nothing and MediaTek with the Dimensity 7200 Pro, a robust 5,000 mAh battery, and dual rear cameras.
Details about the Plus model are scarce at the moment, leaving much to speculation regarding its potential features. Some suggest it might be the community edition of the Phone (2a), although that seems unlikely.
The Phone (2a) Plus is likely aiming to address areas where the Phone (2a) could have improved, such as cameras, wireless charging, and a back design that’s easier to clean. There’s also anticipation for a more powerful SoC. Moreover, “Plus” could imply a larger form factor.
It will be intriguing to see how the Phone (2a) Plus evolves as an enhanced version of the Phone (2a). What are your thoughts on this announcement? Share your opinions in the comments below.
