A few days ago, Nothing announced the launch of a refined version of its best-selling phone, the Nothing Phone (2a) (review), named the Phone (2a) Plus. We speculated that it might feature an upgraded SoC, and this has been confirmed: the Phone (2a) Plus will indeed be powered by the new and improved Dimensity 7350 Pro.
The Flipkart page for the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus is now live. In addition to the launch date, which is set for July 31, the page confirms that the Phone (2a) Plus will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro SoC and 12 GB of RAM.
One question that will be on many people’s minds is the difference between the Dimensity 7350 Pro and the 7200 Pro.
Dimensity 7350 Pro Vs 7200 Pro
The primary difference is in the clock speeds of the performance cores. The two Cortex-A715 cores in the Dimensity 7350 Pro are clocked 200 MHz higher than those in the 7200 Pro. Both processors are manufactured using TSMC’s 2nd Gen 4nm process and are octa-core processors.
The Dimensity 7350 Pro should offer better performance on paper compared to the 7200 Pro. However, it remains to be seen what specific improvements Nothing will apply to the Dimensity 7350 Pro, given its collaborative development. Although the 7350 Pro may offer slightly better performance than the 7200 Pro, it could also be more power-efficient.
In addition to the upgraded processor, the Phone (2a) Plus will come with more RAM than the Phone (2a). The rest of the details are still under wraps, but with the Phone (2a) Plus launching this month, a design refresh seems unlikely.
As for pricing, there is no information available yet. However, it’s reasonable to expect that the Phone (2a) Plus will be priced a few thousand bucks higher than the Phone (2a).
