Nothing recently rolled out the closed beta version of Nothing OS 2.5, built on Android 14, and a month later, introduced the open beta update for the same. This update introduces several enhancements, including modifications to the Glyph Interface.
Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta Now Rolling Out!
The open beta for Nothing OS 2.5, based on Android 14, is now available for the Phone (2). This update introduces a new Glyph animation for NFC usage and integrates progress information for Google Calendar. Users can now monitor upcoming saved events with a timer. The Glyph timer now features time presets and is accessible directly from the lock screen. Tapping, instead of holding, allows access to the pop-up window.
Furthermore, the open beta of Nothing OS 2.5 brings additional enhancements. Predictive Back is now supported by all apps, and the three-finger gesture has been enhanced. Users will also have more options for the double-press power button gesture.
As highlighted in Nothing’s Community Update video, the upcoming Nothing OS 2.5 will introduce new widgets, including a pedometer widget for setting and tracking step goals, as well as widgets for media and screen time. A dedicated Nothing Widgets app on the Google Play Store will keep users updated on these additions. The OS update will introduce a new customization menu, an enhanced editing UI, and more. Notable features include a new wallpaper selector, new color themes, alterations to the lock screen, and integration with Android 14 features.

For those not yet enrolled, sign-up is available on their website. While the release date for the stable version is still undisclosed, Nothing has already begun work on Nothing OS 3.0, although official details on this are yet to be revealed.
