Nothing phones have been making headlines recently for receiving Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14, bringing a host of new features to both the Phone (1) and Phone (2). Despite the discontinuation of Nothing Phone (1), which was well-received upon its launch, there has been a clamor for a lower-priced Nothing Phone. The good news is that Nothing Phone (2a) has now been officially confirmed.
In Nothing’s recent community update, the company confirmed the upcoming release of a new phone called Phone (2a), codenamed Aerodactyl. The existence of Phone (2a) was initially leaked months ago on X (formerly Twitter).
Specs-wise, the Nothing Phone (2a) is expected to be positioned between Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (2). In terms of pricing, it should be around the same price as or slightly lower than Phone (1) when it launched.
The Nothing Phone (2a) is expected to come with the following specifications, as per your master article:
- MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC
- Dual cameras
- AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate
- 4500 mAh battery with 33W fast charging
- Different Glyphs compared to Phone (1) and (2)
- Priced at around $350 to $400
It’s exciting to hear about Nothing’s plans for more audio products and phones, especially with the announcement of the Glyph Developer Kit. This kit could lead to more innovative use of Glyphs in apps, enhancing the user experience.
