Nothing Officially Confirms Dimensity 7300 for CMF Phone 1

The highly anticipated CMF Phone 1 is generating buzz online due to its distinctive design approach. Although many details about the phone’s specifications remain undisclosed, recent confirmations validate earlier rumors suggesting that the device will indeed be equipped with the Dimensity 7300 SoC.

Under the Nothing brand, CMF has officially announced that the CMF Phone 1 will be equipped with the Dimensity 7300 SoC. This system-on-a-chip features eight cores, comprising four high-performance cores and four efficiency cores, all built on TSMC’s advanced 4nm process technology.

Comparing the Dimensity 7300 and Dimensity 7200 Pro in the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a) reveals some distinct differences in their core configurations and GPU capabilities.

In the Nothing Phone (2a), the Dimensity 7200 Pro boasts 2 Cortex-A715 performance cores clocked at 2.8 GHz and 6 Cortex-A510 efficiency cores running at 2 GHz. Meanwhile, the Dimensity 7300 introduces two additional Cortex-A78 performance cores, albeit at a slightly lower clock speed of 2.5 GHz compared to the 7200’s Cortex-A715 cores at 2.8 GHz.

While it’s premature to assess the full performance gains of the Dimensity 7300 over the 7200, preliminary estimates suggest around a 5% improvement on paper, despite the 7300 utilizing older Cortex-A78 and A58 cores.

Turning to the GPU capabilities, the Dimensity 7300 features a slightly superior Mali-G615 MP6 GPU compared to the 7200’s Mali-G610 MP4. The 7300 benefits from more execution units and is a newer iteration in this regard.

In a Twitter thread, Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis unveiled several key details about the CMF Phone 1. These include the device packing 8GB of RAM, along with features like Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6 support, and Dual 5G connectivity.

Moreover, leaks and official tweets have confirmed distinctive features of the CMF Phone 1, including a Lanyard Dial and a replaceable back panel with a screw mechanism. CMF plans to include a special screwdriver that doubles as a SIM ejector tool in the packaging.

The CMF Phone 1 is set to launch on July 8, alongside the CMF Buds Pro 2 and CMF Watch Pro 2.
