No Apple Watch Ultra 3 Launch Today; Black Ultra 2 Might Be Revealed: Report

The day has finally arrived! Today, Apple is hosting its ‘It’s Glowtime’ event at Apple Park, where it will unveil the highly anticipated iPhone 16 series. Despite months of speculation about a potential launch of the Apple Watch Ultra 3 at this September event, it appears that may not be the case.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has posted on X that he doesn’t expect Apple to reveal its next-gen flagship smartwatch today. Instead, Gurman expects Apple to unveil a new black titanium color option for the Apple Watch Ultra 2.

He also mentioned that the Apple Watch SE 3 might face a delay. Additionally, there are rumors that Apple could introduce new health-tracking features for the Apple Watch Ultra 2 to enhance its appeal.

Almost a year ago, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo was the first to suggest that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 might not be released in 2024. Kuo indicated that the delay could be attributed to Apple needing “more time to develop innovative health management features.

It’s worth noting that a black casing option for the Apple Watch Ultra 2 was rumored to debut last year but never appeared. It appears Apple may have reserved this color option for today’s event, as they need ‘more time’ to prepare the Apple Watch Ultra 3.

We won’t have to wait much longer to see what Apple reveals today. However, it’s certain that we’ll see the iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch Series 10, and Apple Intelligence. Here’s how you can watch the iPhone 16 launch event live.
