WhatsApp recently introduced a significant update featuring new channel capabilities. Initially limited to one admin (owner), the management structure for WhatsApp Channels is undergoing a transformation across both platforms.
The most recent WhatsApp beta update, introduced in the TestFlight beta program (iOS 23.25.10.70), includes this much-awaited feature: the ability to add multiple channel admins. Users within the channel can now be selected and promoted to admin status, offering a more versatile and collaborative management system.
Previously reported by WABetaInfo in an Android beta update, this feature is now gradually extending to iOS users as well. As depicted in the image shared by WABetaInfo, channel admins will gain the ability to search for and invite other admins to their channels. This development significantly streamlines the management of larger channels, empowering owners to add additional admins at their discretion, simplifying the management process.
Meta has been consistently refining this feature since its inception, and it appears that this evolution will persist. WhatsApp, initially tailored for smaller groups, has now expanded its capabilities, facilitating communication with an almost limitless number of individuals through this new feature. Moreover, Meta has introduced Discord-like voice chats supporting up to 128 members in a previous beta update.
