New NVIDIA RTX 3050 Featuring 6GB VRAM Spotted Online

A leak has emerged indicating the imminent arrival of a new entry-level Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card with reduced VRAM capacity compared to its predecessor, the RTX 3050 8GB. The leak surfaced through online product listings from Citilink, a PC hardware retailer based in Russia, uncovering details about the RTX 3050 6GB.

Initially reported by VideoCardz, this leak sheds light on various specifications of the upcoming RTX 3050 6GB GPU, including details about its clock speed, total graphics power (TGP), and the length of its PCIe connector. This leak reaffirms prior information that had previously hinted at the existence of the RTX 3050 6GB variant.

There’s a leak unveiling three new models from Palit, Nvidia’s GPU brand partner: the RTX 3050 StormX, StormX OC, and KalmX variants. According to reports, these models will feature a 6GB GDDR6 VRAM capacity.

As of the current time, the leaked listing remains visible on Citilink.ru. Notably, the KalmX variant stands out as a fan-less version of the RTX 3050. It raises curiosity about how its passive cooler will manage during prolonged gaming sessions.

In an early product listing, details about the RTX 3050 6GB specifications have emerged, indicating a TGP (Total Graphics Power) of 115W. This new variant, in comparison to the previously released 8GB version rated at 130W, consumes 13% less power.

However, it’s crucial to note that Nvidia hasn’t officially confirmed the existence of this GPU, so specifications might change upon release. Additionally, with the reduced VRAM capacity, this new variant is expected to offer slightly lower performance.

From the available information, it appears that the base clock speed of the 6GB variant, as indicated in the leaked details, is notably lower at 1042MHz. In comparison, Palit’s website lists the older 8GB RTX 3050 model with a base clock speed of 1552MHz. Additionally, the image suggests a PCIe connector shorter than the standard length.

This suggests that the RTX 3050 6GB might operate on PCIe 4.0 x8 (8 lanes). It’s interesting to note that even the RTX 4060 Ti operates on PCIe 4.0 x8 but features a PCIe x16 physical interface. In this context, the physically shorter PCIe x8 connector on this Palit RTX 3050 6GB model is noteworthy.

The leaked pricing for the RTX 3050 6GB stands at RUB 28,720, but it’s likely a placeholder figure. Actual pricing details are still pending. Anticipated for release in February 2024, this Nvidia entry-level graphics card is generating considerable buzz.
