As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, Microsoft has unveiled a forward-thinking feature for Copilot called “Actions.” This new addition enhances the AI’s capabilities by allowing it to browse the web and complete tasks on your behalf all quietly in the background while you focus elsewhere.
With “Actions,” Copilot can now handle things like booking restaurants, purchasing movie or event tickets, sending gifts, or even arranging a ride home after a night out. This suggests integration with services like Uber and other ride-sharing apps, marking a big step forward in everyday AI-driven convenience.
At launch, Copilot Actions will integrate with a wide range of partners, including Booking.com, Expedia, Kayak, Tripadvisor, Skyscanner, Viator, Vrbo, Priceline, OpenTable, 1-800-Flowers.com, and several other travel and lifestyle services.
Beyond task automation, Copilot Actions will also be able to scan websites and convert their content into listenable podcasts much like what Google’s NotebookLM offers. Additionally, it could assist users in finding the best deals on products and services, effectively acting as an AI-powered personal concierge. While Microsoft hasn’t revealed the exact mechanics behind how Actions will work just yet, it’s shaping up to be one of Copilot’s most exciting upgrades. What are your thoughts on this new feature?
