Marvel Rivals Arrives to Take on Overwatch


The Internet has been buzzing with rumors about Marvel’s newest live service game, and now the wait is over. Marvel has officially announced Marvel Rivals, their upcoming PVP shooter.

The newly released trailer provides a wealth of information and gameplay details about Marvel Rivals. This 6v6 PVP shooter is set within the Marvel universe and has been developed in collaboration with Netease Games. The game will feature a wide array of Marvel heroes.

The trailer showcases a range of beloved heroes, including Iron Man, The Hulk, the Guardians, and even the X-Men. While the gameplay appears to be Overwatch-style combat, the art style has a Valorant-like feel. Marvel Rivals will feature destructible environments and a diverse set of moves that build excitement. Additionally, the game boasts an exciting post-launch roadmap.

Marvel Rivals Confirmed Platforms and Alpha Test

The game will soon enter an alpha test phase. According to the trailer, Marvel Rivals’ alpha test is scheduled to start in May 2024. You can sign up to participate via their official site. Game producer Stephen Wu shared:

Each seasonal update will introduce new maps and heroes. Confirmed heroes include Doctor Strange, Loki, Magneto, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Iron Man and more, with 18 additional heroes planned. However, only 12 heroes will be available during the alpha test.

The game is currently being developed solely for PC. The Marvel Rivals announcement trailer features both the Steam and Epic Store logos, confirming that the game will be available on PC during the alpha test.
