Gurman suggests that this special edition will bring about a substantial redesign, potentially being the most transformative one yet, akin to the impact of the iPhone X’s introduction of the notch.

Reports indicate that the Apple Watch X will feature a sleeker chassis and an innovative band system. This means that existing bands from previous Apple Watch models may not be compatible with this new iteration, departing from the norm established since the original Apple Watch launch in 2015.

Inside sources at Apple also hint at the exploration of a Magnetic Band Attachment System for the Apple Watch X. This practical consideration could free up valuable space within the watch’s design, allowing for larger battery capacity or other essential components.
