Leaks continue as Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event nears. The latest one reveals the alleged battery capacities of the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup, just ahead of the official launch.
Tipster ShrimpApplePro shared an image on X, claiming it shows the expected battery details for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The data, according to a leaker, was extracted from a Chinese certification website.
Based on the leak, the iPhone 17 Air will carry the smallest battery in the lineup. The SIM tray variant is tipped to house a 3,036mAh unit, while the eSIM-only model could pack a slightly larger 3,149mAh battery.
Moving to the standard iPhone 17, both the SIM tray and eSIM-only versions are expected to feature the same 3,692mAh capacity. The iPhone 17 Pro is said to get a bump, with the SIM slot model reportedly offering a 3,988mAh battery, while the eSIM-only variant could push that up to 4,252mAh.

Rounding out the lineup, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to feature a 4,823mAh battery on the physical SIM model and a larger 5,088mAh unit on the eSIM-only version. This would make the eSIM variant the first iPhone ever to cross the 5,000mAh mark.
That said, it’s unlikely that the 5,088mAh model will be available in India, since Apple continues to sell iPhones in the country with a physical SIM tray. As a result, Indian users may miss out on experiencing the record-breaking battery upgrade.

As for the rest of the specifications, an earlier leak revealed the complete spec sheet for the iPhone 17 series. According to the report, the iPhone 17 will sport a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a slightly larger 6.6-inch panel. Meanwhile, the Pro models are tipped to offer 6.3-inch (Pro) and 6.9-inch (Pro Max) screens.
On the performance front, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air are likely to be powered by Apple’s upcoming A19 chipset, whereas the Pro models will get the more advanced A19 Pro processor. The iPhone 17 Air is rumored to exclusively feature the C1 5G modem, also used in the iPhone 16e.

Apple will introduce a new design language across the iPhone 17 Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max this year. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to debut as an ultra-slim device, measuring just 5.5mm in thickness, while the Pro models are tipped to feature a dual-tone design with a seamless aluminium frame paired with a glass section on the back. Notably, the 17 Air could also stand out as the only model in the lineup to sport a titanium chassis.
