iPhone 15 users report persistent Bluetooth connection problems on Apple Support Community and MacRumors forums since the series launched, experiencing erratic connections.
Numerous complaints indicate that both iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models frequently disconnect from older Bluetooth devices such as headphones or in-car systems lacking CarPlay support. The discussion began with a user citing Bluetooth connectivity problems with their iPhone 15 Pro Max in a 2014 BMW model.
“Ever since iOS 17, I’ve been experiencing frequent Bluetooth disconnects in my car (without CarPlay). I have a BMW from 2014. When I make a hands-free call, the Bluetooth disconnects after a few seconds, forcing me to manually switch to the iPhone speaker.”
This sparked a wave of responses, as many users chimed in to share their experiences of encountering similar Bluetooth connection issues on their iPhone 15 models.
A significant portion of the complaints originated from iPhone 15 users struggling to connect their devices to Bluetooth car systems, headphones, and similar accessories. However, others encountered difficulties pairing their iPhone 15 models with contemporary devices like AirPods, Beats Studio Buds, and others. Additionally, a user who transitioned from an iPhone 15 Plus to an iPhone 15 Pro Max reported experiencing poor Bluetooth connections.
“I upgraded from the iPhone 15 Plus to the iPhone 15 Pro Max (got it for free due to switching carriers), but I’m experiencing awful Bluetooth connections. While my car’s Bluetooth works fine, both my AirPods Max and Beats Studio Buds suffer from music cutting out and calls dropping after 5 to 10 minutes. I’ve tried all the resets. Anticipating a software update shortly.”
iPhone 15 Bluetooth problems first emerged in October 2023, shortly after the phone’s release. Users hoped that subsequent iOS 17 updates would fix these issues, but none have. Even with each iOS 17 iteration, the Bluetooth problems persist. The latest reports are from users on iOS 17.3.1, indicating that Apple has yet to address the issue.
Currently, the exact cause of these problems remains unclear, and they persist across both iPhone 15 and 15 Pro models. Common troubleshooting steps such as restarting or resetting the iPhone have proven ineffective. To alleviate their frustration, some users have opted to replace their iPhones.
