Honkai Star Rail’s latest Developer Radio: Voice of the Galaxy has just been released, offering exciting new details about the upcoming 2.3 version. The developers announced a new permanent game mode, Apocalyptic Shadow, which will be available alongside Memory of Chaos and Pure Fiction and in this new game mode, “Trailblazers must confront materializations of the Finality and defeat bosses they have previously encountered.“
Finality, a significant path in Honkai Star Rail, is making its debut in the game. The Aeon of Finality, known as Terminus, moves backward through time and across the Universe, murmuring a prophecy that is fated to be fulfilled. This concept of Finality is also linked to the Cocoon of Finality from Honkai Impact 3rd, as both games exist within the same universe.
In the new Apocalyptic Shadow game mode, players will face previously encountered bosses with altered traits. Before each battle, players can review the boss’s traits to better strategize their approach. Additionally, Apocalyptic Shadow will award 720 Stellar Jades for completing each phase, so be sure to tackle every phase to earn the rewards.
Here’s the schedule for the new game modes following HSR version 2.3:
- Apocalyptic Shadow (6 weeks): New phases will start every 2 weeks following the conclusion of Memory of Chaos.
- Pure Fiction (6 weeks): New phases will commence every 2 weeks after Apocalyptic Shadow ends.
- Memory of Chaos (6 weeks): New phases will begin every 2 weeks following the end of Pure Fiction.
In addition to the new game mode, the Developer Radio episode unveiled several quality-of-life improvements. Players will now have the ability to set up their teams in advance and quickly access their preset teams for immediate entry into the game.
A new drag-and-drop feature will streamline the process of arranging characters between nodes. Additionally, Trailblazers will be able to view their friends’ team setups for clearing the Pure Fiction and Forgotten Hall stages. Future updates will also include key stats for Relics and Light Cones.
