Whether it’s waiting for GTA 6’s release date or anticipating a new trailer, any news about this highly anticipated game grabs attention. However, this latest report is more shocking than most. Multiple sources now claim that GTA 6 will be launching on the Xbox 360 as part of a special ‘Throwback Edition.’

According to Insider Gaming, GTA 6 will reportedly arrive on the Xbox 360 under this unique edition, with a potential PS3 release also in the works. A supposed Rockstar Games representative, Don Beleevit (really?), spoke to the reporter and stated:

He further mentioned that GTA 6 will feature a ‘lite’ version with reduced textures and resolution. While GTA 5 on the Xbox 360 was a groundbreaking release, the idea of its sequel arriving on the aging console seems highly unlikely. As exciting as it sounds, it’s best to take this report with a grain of salt.

GTA 6 Xbox 360 and PS3 Confirmed?

The overwhelming anticipation for Grand Theft Auto 6 makes the gaming community an easy target for misinformation. The official GTA 6 trailer has already confirmed its release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Considering the game’s long development cycle and technical advancements, the idea of an Xbox 360 release is simply unrealistic given the console’s hardware limitations.

Furthermore, reports suggest that even current-generation hardware might face frame rate challenges, with one report specifically mentioning that GTA 6 will run at 30 fps. Given this, the idea of the Xbox 360 handling such a demanding title is outright impossible.

So, if you haven’t figured it out yet this ‘exciting’ news about GTA 6 coming to the Xbox 360 is nothing more than an April Fool’s prank. But hey, it’s a pretty clever one, isn’t it?
