Google’s popular product, NotebookLM, which gained attention for creating natural-sounding AI podcasts, now supports over 50 languages. Previously limited to English, the latest update allows NotebookLM to generate Audio Overviews (AI podcasts) in languages like French, Hindi, Japanese, Portuguese, and more.
To generate an AI podcast in a different language, go to Settings under the NotebookLM project, select “Output language,” choose your preferred language from the drop-down menu, and click “Save.” The AI podcast will then be generated in your selected language.

Even if your documents are uploaded in English or another language, you can still choose a different output language for the AI podcast. I tried generating an AI podcast in another language through NotebookLM, and it did an impressive job. By the way, NotebookLM leverages Gemini’s native multimodal capability to create AI podcasts in various languages.
Recently, Google also added the ability to join the AI podcast and interact with the AI hosts, making the experience even more immersive. Additionally, you can now add relevant web sources to NotebookLM by describing the information you need, allowing you to incorporate the latest data into your expansive knowledge base.
