In the past few weeks, information about the upcoming Google Pixel 8 lineup has been widely circulating, making it one of the worst-kept secrets in the tech world. The leaks even reached a point where a complete 360-degree view of the Pixel 8 Pro briefly appeared on the official Pixel Phone Simulator website. With less than a month remaining until the Google Pixel 8 launch event, the company has chosen to provide official teasers for the upcoming devices and other exciting products. Check out the details below!
A Sneak Peek at the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro
Google has provided the public with an official glimpse of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro by sharing a short teaser video on X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube. In the video, the standard Pixel device showcases a rose-colored glossy glass back, while the “8 Pro” variant boasts a “premium” matte glass finish, in line with previous leaks.
The design of the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro maintains the same visual language as the Pixel 7 series, with minor updates. Notably, the edges of both Pixel 8 devices appear to be more rounded compared to their predecessors. Additionally, the size difference between the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro is evident. The Pixel 8 is equipped with a dual-camera setup, similar to the Pixel 7, while the 8 Pro features a triple-camera configuration, rumored to include a periscope lens and a temperature sensor.
Both smartphones are set to be powered by Google’s upcoming Tensor G3 chipset. The Pixel 8 is expected to feature a 6.17-inch display, while the Pro variant will offer a 6.7-inch display.
In a separate teaser video, Google also provided a first look at the Pixel Watch 2 and a possible new color variant of the Pixel Buds. The second-generation Pixel Watch is rumored to support the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, a larger 306mAh battery, and an Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip. It will come with Wear OS 4 pre-installed. Details about the next-gen Pixel Buds are not available at this time.
