God of War Ragnarok Valhalla is a Free DLC Set to Arrive Next Week

Santa Monica Studios surprises PlayStation fans with an unexpected announcement: a free DLC for the acclaimed title God of War Ragnarok. Named GOW Ragnarok Valhalla, this new expansion promises additional action-adventure excitement for PS5 gamers. The release date is right around the corner, much to the delight of series enthusiasts.

God of War Ragnarok’s Valhalla DLC Set to Expand Gameplay

Sony Santa Monica introduced this during the Game Awards 2023, where Geoff Keighley, the host, presented it as a ‘gift from the passionate developers‘ to its community. The big reveal: God of War Ragnarok Valhalla, a free DLC, is slated for release on December 12, 2023. It’s set to arrive next week!

The DLC storyline unfolds after the main game, placing Kratos and Mimir on the shores of Valhalla. This rogue-like adventure tasks players with multiple runs, leveraging knowledge gained from previous attempts.

According to the official blog post, the DLC will offer the familiar combat gameplay alongside new features. Expect roguelike elements such as temporary and permanent upgrades, diverse encounters on each playthrough, and varying difficulty levels. Rewards can be interchanged between difficulty settings, modifying your gameplay experience.

Moreover, in Valhalla, armor serves a purely visual purpose, allowing players to style Kratos without concerning themselves with protective stats. Notably, GOW Ragnarok Valhalla stands as a distinct experience from the original game, enabling players to dive in at any stage without worrying about prior progression.

More details from PlayStation are on the way, but if you own the game, get set for this new chapter arriving next week. Are you looking forward to the God of War DLC? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
