Google first introduced Gemini on Android in 2023, and since then, it has expanded significantly. The AI chatbot is now making its way to Android Auto, with experts already uncovering related assets in Android Auto APKs. While Google has confirmed that Gemini is coming to Wear OS, details about its functionality remain scarce. However, a recent discovery may have just given us a glimpse of one of its upcoming features.
Earlier this morning, when I received a call, I glanced at my Pixel Watch 2 and noticed a small Gemini icon inside the Phone app’s call screen. It was positioned above the three-dot button, which, for those unfamiliar, is where Quick Replies are located.

Does the Gemini icon suggest that the Phone app on Wear OS could soon offer AI-generated contextual replies? That seems unlikely after all, how would Gemini understand the context without knowing the reason behind the call? This leads us to believe it might be an entirely different feature. However, since the Gemini icon appears directly over the Quick Replies button, it’s almost certain that it’s somehow linked to Quick Replies.
Currently, Gemini provides two call-related features on Pixel phones Call Notes and Scam Detection both powered by Gemini Nano. It’s definitely not Call Screening, since Google Assistant already handles that on Wear OS. So, could this be the new scam detection feature making its way to Wear OS? Your guess is as good as mine.
The Gemini icon appeared on my Pixel Watch 2 while connected to both a OnePlus 12R and a Pixel 6, suggesting that this feature might not be Pixel-exclusive—at least, we hope so.
