As you’ve likely already noticed, the new Amazon Fallout series is generating significant buzz online. Capitalizing on the momentum, Bethesda has decided to further hype the franchise by releasing a long-awaited next-gen update for Fallout 4. This free upcoming update will introduce a range of enhancements across all platforms.
The upcoming update introduces brand-new Quality and 60FPS Performance modes for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users. Additionally, it includes “stability improvements, login, and quest fixes” across all platforms.
PC gamers can also look forward to widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, Creation Kit fixes, and various quest updates. Moreover, Fallout 4 will be Steam Deck verified and available on the Epic Games Store. This highly anticipated update will be completely free and arrive on April 25 for all platforms.
Fallout 4 New In-Game Content
In addition to stability, performance, and quality improvements, the Fallout 4 update also introduces new in-game content. According to the Bethesda News portal, the following in-game additions will be available on April 25:
Enclave Remnants
The remnants of the oppressive Enclave, a pre-war shadow government, have infiltrated the Commonwealth in Fallout 4’s new quest, Echoes of the Past. In this captivating expansion, players will confront a pivotal choice: Suppress the Enclave’s resurgence and their perilous ideology, or allow them to gain a foothold in the already devastated wasteland.
The update includes the Enclave Colonel uniform and workshop items, along with a selection of popular Creation Club content previously released, such as:
- Enclave Weapon Skins
- Enclave Armor Skins
- Tesla Cannon
- Hellfire Power Armor
- X-02 Power Armor
- Heavy Incinerator
Makeshift Weapon Pack
This diverse weapon pack throws out the conventional rulebook, offering a mix of unconventional tools like a baseball launcher, a nail gun, and a surprisingly effective piggy bank weapon.
Halloween Workshop
Enjoy the haunting delights of Halloween year-round! This collection of 38 decorations, leftover from a past celebration hosted by the New England Technocrat Society, is now available. Liven up your settlements with witches, cauldrons, ghouls, and other spooky wonders – perfect for Halloween or adding a touch of wasteland whimsy anytime.
While Fallout 4 may have been criticized for certain issues, I genuinely enjoyed the game’s storytelling and gameplay. After revisiting the post-apocalyptic world through a TV series, I’m eager to update my game and embark on the adventure once again. After the release of Starfield (Review), I didn’t expect Bethesda to provide a free update for Fallout 4. But here we are.
