Valorant is expanding its extensive map pool with a unique addition, a Team Deathmatch (TDM) map. Until now, players in the Team Deathmatch mode have been limited to three maps, but this shifts with the introduction of the new map, “Drift,” to Valorant. Riot teased this addition through various Instagram posts before unveiling the Drift Team Deathmatch map during VCT Game Changers.
The official launch date for the “Drift” map is confirmed for December 5th, 2023, as officially announced during VCT Game Changers over the weekend. To grasp the essence of this new map, watch the trailer showcasing its features:
The trailer highlights a notable addition, a zipline located in the middle of the map. “Drift” boasts a fresh ambiance while incorporating recognizable elements that contribute to the existing chaotic gameplay. Following the Fracture map, this marks the second map in the game to feature a functional zipline.
The map not only offers exciting gameplay but also boasts visually appealing aesthetics reminiscent of a paradise island. With over half of the map resembling an island from Southeast Asia, the remaining portion embraces a modern look resembling Riot’s Kingdom association.
With just two days left until the release of this new map, the anticipation is high, especially for a change from the repetitive cycle of the old maps in Team Deathmatch. Share your thoughts on the new TDM map in the comments below!
