Dragon’s Dogma 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the beloved action RPG Dragon’s Dogma, has at last received an official release date. Fans, eagerly awaiting this sequel since its announcement last year, have been counting down the days for its arrival. After a series of updates and teasers, Capcom has unveiled the long-awaited release date.
In a 13-minute showcase video, Capcom revealed the launch date of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Creator and director Hideaki Itsuno, alongside producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, presented the upcoming game. Gamers can mark their calendars for March 22, 2023, as the day when Dragon’s Dogma 2 will hit the shelves for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
During the showcase, Capcom didn’t just unveil the release date; they also provided crucial insights into the game itself. One major revelation is that Dragon’s Dogma 2 unfolds in a parallel world while maintaining continuity with the events of the first installment. The storyline follows the familiar premise of the player’s heart being taken by a Dragon, resulting in the emergence of the Arisen. Players can immerse themselves in two distinct kingdoms: Vermund, governed by humans, and the Beastern realm of Battahl, along with several other captivating locations to explore.
Moreover, the showcase introduced a formidable new adversary in the game known as Talos. This colossal foe boasts multiple weak points across its body, offering players various strategic approaches to defeating it. The flexibility for players to choose their preferred method of taking down this breathtaking boss adds an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay.
The Pawns system has undergone a significant revamp, allowing each one to possess unique traits, enhancing their role as engaging party members. Additionally, a new vocation named Trickster has been introduced, showcasing the game’s impressive character creator. The showcase also provided glimpses of Drake and Dulahand in action, presenting two formidable in-game adversaries.
