Anticipation ran high for Xbox’s business podcast, with hopes of thrilling announcements like next-gen hardware or cross-game reveals. However, the excitement fizzled as the reveals fell short. But there’s a silver lining: Microsoft just unveiled that all Activision games are headed to Xbox Game Pass, kicking off with Diablo 4.
Activision and Microsoft Set Diablo 4 as the First of Many
Despite the lack of substantial reveals in the podcast, Microsoft did announce that all of Activision’s games will be joining ‘Game Pass‘. Leading the pack is Diablo IV, set to debut on Game Pass on March 28th.
Although Microsoft didn’t delve into details about other Activision Blizzard titles, Diablo 4’s inclusion is a promising beginning for Activision’s presence on the Xbox platform. With the official announcement, a release trailer for Diablo 4 on ‘Game Pass’ has also been unveiled.
While ‘Game Pass’ is prominently highlighted multiple times, it appears that Xbox has been overlooked entirely, shifting the focus to both Xbox and PC Game Pass. With this inclusion, anticipation builds for future additions like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft on Game Pass.
Although the podcast didn’t deliver the excitement we anticipated, the Activision Blizzard announcement wasn’t much of a shock. Given Microsoft’s earlier buyout of Activision Blizzard, it was a move many expected to happen.
For now, Xbox and PC Game Pass users have something to look forward to. What’s your take on this announcement? Do you believe there should already be a greater selection of Activision games on Game Pass? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
