Kojima Productions and 505 Games have officially announced the upcoming release of their AAA gaming title, Death Stranding Director’s Cut, on select Apple devices. Commencing on January 30, users owning iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models (equipped with the A17 Pro chip), as well as M-series iPads and Macs, will have the chance to immerse themselves in the enthralling post-apocalyptic world crafted by the renowned game director Hideo Kojima.
The game is currently available for pre-order on the App Store, allowing enthusiasts to secure their copy at a discounted rate of $19.99 in the US. This limited-time offer provides an opportunity to experience the game at a lower cost before it reverts to its regular pricing of $39.99.
Originally launched for the PlayStation 5 in 2021 and subsequently for PC in 2022, Death Stranding Director’s Cut has gained acclaim for its immersive storytelling and cinematic gameplay. Featuring Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead fame, players traverse a fictional sci-fi wasteland, undertaking missions and exploring the captivating intricacies of a hauntingly beautiful open world.
The upcoming release on Apple devices, especially on the iPhone 15 Pro models (powered by the new A17 Pro chipset) and M-series Macs with the M3 (Apple Silicon) chip, stands out for its support of advanced graphics features. Both chips incorporate hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading, promising enhanced graphics rendering with more precise lighting, reflections, and shadows. This improvement elevates the visual experience, adding a new layer of realism to the already stunning landscapes of Death Stranding.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Pro Max version of Death Stranding Director’s Cut is 1.78GB in size, while the M-series Mac version is considerably larger at 69.75GB.
