Counter-Strike 2, a beloved game, had been lacking updates for a while. However, a new CS2 update has just been released with a slew of improvements, fixes, and new content. The most significant change is the introduction of gun stickers.
Stickers in Counter-Strike allow players to personalize their weapon skins. Previously, stickers could only be applied to specific locations on the gun. For example, my personal AK-47 Slate gun skin had:
With the new update, stickers can now be placed anywhere on the gun, which is a massive change. Players can even rotate stickers for unique combinations. Additionally, up to 5 stickers can now be applied to one skin, allowing for more customization. As Valve puts it, “Now’s your chance to create the perfect craft.” Check out how the new sticker customization on CS2 guns looks:
Some players have already created wild combinations. For example, FACEIT created a humorous ‘budget’ version of the Deagle Blaze CS2 skin using the new sticker update. However, it’s worth noting that stickers can only be placed on the gun’s side, as shown in the game.
Counter-Strike 2 Arms Race Is Back
The ‘Call to Arms’ CS2 update reintroduces the Arms Race game mode in Counter-Strike. This mode, which was popular in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, tasks players with leveling up their weapons until they reach the Knife stage. The objective is to eliminate opponents with a knife to secure victory.
Players begin with an automatic sniper (G3SG1 or SCAR-20) and progress to other weapons like the M4A4, Famas, and AK-47 by eliminating opponents. The progression includes various shotguns and SMGs. The game mode pits CT against T, and two maps are available, including Shoots, set in the jungles.
Additionally, the map Baggage makes a return in Counter-Strike 2 with the latest update. Enhanced with the Source 2 engine lighting and redesigned textures, the map offers an immersive experience. Despite its small size, it provides enjoyable gameplay, as seen in the screenshot below taken after dominating the lobby.
New CS2 Gun Skins and Kukri Knife Unveiled in Kilowatt Case
Highly anticipated, the Kukri Knife, previously leaked, has now made its debut alongside the Kilowatt collection of CS2 gun skins. The new Kilowatt case is available on the Steam Community Market.
This update introduces 17 new gun skins, including the first skin for the Zeus X27, named Olympus. The new case is currently on sale for $8.35, making it a valuable addition if acquired as a weekly care package.
Stickers have also seen an increase in price, so if you have some in your CS2 inventory, it’s a good time to check their value. You can find all the patch notes on the official website, including updates to the sub-tick architecture. Here are the Kukri knife animations, provided by X (formerly known as Twitter) user LERCOgg:
The latest CS2 update brings some significant changes. What’s your favorite feature? Personally, I’m excited about the return of the Arms Race game mode, which provides that classic CS:GO experience. Share your thoughts in the comments below!
