CMF Phone 1 Leak Hints at Budget-Friendly Smartphone

Nothing’s sub-brand CMF is preparing to launch its first smartphone, as previously leaked. New details have emerged regarding its design, price, and specifications, suggesting it will be a budget-friendly device. The first smartphone from CMF might follow Nothing’s naming convention and debut as the CMF Phone 1.

The phone is reported to include a 6.5-inch display with Gorilla Glass protection, as per 91 Mobiles. It is expected to have a single camera setup on the back, a 5000 mAh battery, and be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity processor, possibly the Dimensity 6100 or 6300 chipset. The device could run a streamlined version of the Nothing OS, offering 3 Android updates and 4 years of security patches.

Considering this will be a budget device, it might feature a plastic enclosure akin to the one on the Phone (2a). Based on the leaks, the design appears rather bland and uninspiring, although it could be a fan-made render. Similar to other products in CMF’s lineup, the Phone 1 may be offered in three colors: Orange, Black, and White. The expected price for the phone is around Rs 12,000 or $140, which is half the price of the Nothing Phone (2a) released earlier this year.

Nothing is making a strategic move to establish a strong presence in every segment of the Indian smartphone market, much like OnePlus has done over the years. There’s hope that the final design of the phone differs significantly from the leaked renders. The budget segment is in need of a refreshing design, which CMF has the opportunity to deliver.
