Nothing’s sub-brand CMF has launched some impressive products so far. We’ve heard for a while that the brand would eventually enter the smartphone market, and now we have numerous leaks about the upcoming CMF Phone. Recently, the CMF brand on Twitter posted an image of the phone—albeit a partial view—confirming that it will look quite different from today’s smartphones. Here’s the official teaser for the CMF Phone 1.
Recently, the official Nothing account on X tweeted an image that we suspected could be the CMF Phone (and still might be). It was unusual for a CMF product to be first teased from Nothing’s account. A few days later, we’ve finally got our first glimpse or perhaps our second of the CMF Phone 1.
The CMF Phone 1 seems to include a physical knob. While it might be mistaken for a volume knob, it is actually a lanyard dial with a locking mechanism. This dial resembles the one seen on the CMF Buds but now includes a lock. We hope it functions as a volume dial, akin to the one found on the recently-launched CMF Neckband earphones. The bright orange color has become a signature element of CMF’s design language.
The curvature in the latest leak closely resembles that of the initial image featuring the black colorway. Therefore, it’s likely we’re viewing the same device in different color options.
Regarding other specifications, there are rumors indicating that the CMF Phone 1 will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, a 5,000 mAh battery supporting 33W fast charging, and possibly dual cameras. It could also sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and might lack a visible logo or branding.
