The Acer Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition has been unveiled at CES 2024, introducing an innovative laptop with a stereoscopic 3D display. This cutting-edge technology, typically found on pricier laptops, is now available at an exceptionally affordable price point. Notably, what sets this laptop apart is its ability to deliver a 3D experience without the necessity of 3D glasses.

Powered by exclusive hardware, the SpatialLabs technology enhances on-screen content, providing a captivating 3-dimensional visual experience on the Acer Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition. With support for 4K UHD resolution (3840×2160), the laptop ensures crystal-clear visuals, promising users an exceptional 3D experience. This feature is particularly appealing to 3D artists, as demonstrated by the company.
The display of the Acer Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs edition boasts 100% Adobe RGB coverage, making it an ideal choice for content creators. With a brightness reaching up to 380 nits, the laptop’s screen delivers vibrant and detailed visuals. It’s important to note that Acer provides a resolution disclaimer, indicating that 2D content is displayed in 4K, while 3D content is presented in 2K (1920×2160) resolution.
Acer employs “specialized optical lenses and eye-tracking technology” to generate the stereoscopic 3D effect, providing a distinctive visual experience, according to the company. While Acer has previously introduced SpatialLabs Edition laptops, the noteworthy aspect of the new Aspire 3D 15 model is its introduction at an exceptionally affordable price point, especially given the advanced technology it incorporates. This is a departure from the trend of such features being found on more expensive laptops.
Specifications of Acer Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition
Aiming for productivity, Acer’s new Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition laptop opts for the Intel 13th Gen i7-13620H CPU, utilizing the Raptor Lake architecture rather than the latest-generation Intel Core Ultra processor. Despite this choice, the i7 13th Gen CPU offers substantial power, boasting a configuration of 10 cores and 16 threads, with a boost clock speed reaching up to 4.90GHz.
The laptop is equipped with an Nvidia RTX 4050 mobile GPU, and its thermal management is handled by Acer’s TwinAir cooling design, featuring dual fans and three copper heat pipes to maintain optimal operating temperatures.
Memory capacity extends up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and storage options include a spacious up to 2TB SSD. The laptop supports Thunderbolt 4 through its USB Type-C port, complemented by a port selection that includes 1x HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, and 3x USB 3.2 Type-A ports.
Acer Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition: Pricing & Availability
Unveiled at CES 2024, Acer’s latest Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition is priced at $1399, with availability set to commence in the US starting February 2024. Further information on global availability will be provided as it becomes available.
Equipped with contemporary AI features such as Microsoft Copilot, Acer Purified View (enhancements for AI-powered video calls), and Acer PurifiedVoice (AI-powered voice reduction), the laptop presents a compelling and intriguing offering. Its market launch is anticipated to make a significant impact and generate attention within the industry.
Personally, I find the Acer Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition more appealing than any other laptop due to its innovative 3D display technology. In my view, the immersive 3D experience compensates for any other features it may lack. Acer’s SpatialLabs Go and SpatialLabs Player, promising the transformation of 2D into 3D content, add an extra layer of excitement to the package.
However, I understand the contrasting viewpoint expressed by Upanishad, who edits Satyam’s pieces. While acknowledging Satyam’s enthusiasm for this technology, Upanishad sees 3D tech as a CES invention that has overstayed its welcome, deeming it somewhat useless. Despite Acer’s efforts to integrate 3D into an affordable-ish laptop, Upanishad remains unconvinced, preferring to stick with the reliability of an old Lenovo Legion.
