Call of Duty fans eagerly anticipating Warzone on mobile can finally mark their calendars. Activision has revealed the worldwide release date for COD Warzone Mobile after a year of testing in specific regions. The highly anticipated game is set to launch worldwide on March 21, 2024, as revealed in a thrilling trailer.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Features
COD Warzone Mobile will be accessible on both iOS and Android platforms, offering a free-to-play experience with the inclusion of the Verdansk and Rebirth Island maps upon its launch.
The game will introduce shared cross-progression, allowing players to advance their progress seamlessly across Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (review) and Warzone on PC and console. This feature enables the transfer of battle pass XP gain across platforms using the same Call of Duty account.
In COD Warzone Mobile, players can immerse themselves in the 120-player Verdansk map, complete with the iconic Verdansk Gulag feature. This feature enables eliminated players to return to the match by defeating an opponent. Additionally, the 48-player Rebirth Island will feature Resurgence rules, enabling players to revive endlessly as long as one of their squadmates is still active.
In addition to the battle royale maps, Warzone Mobile will also include classic COD maps such as Shipment, Scrapyard, and Shoot House. These maps will be available for various multiplayer modes, including Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, and Domination, among others.
Early gameplay footage of Call of Duty Warzone Mobile showcases smooth gameplay and detailed visuals, promising an immersive experience. The game will offer a plethora of customization options, including controller support similar to Call of Duty Mobile, along with various adjustments for HUD, virtual joysticks, and performance or graphics modes.
Previously, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile was in a limited-release phase in countries like Australia, Chile, Norway, Sweden, Germany, and Malaysia for a year. Although there were methods to access the game early, it was largely unavailable to most players.
Despite its limited release, Warzone Mobile has already garnered 50 million pre-registrations worldwide, indicating a strong interest from players. Activision aims to replicate the success of Call of Duty Mobile, which has amassed over 100 million downloads, by building a similar player base for Warzone Mobile.
During the playtest phase, Activision has been diligently addressing bugs and incorporating player feedback to enhance the game. As per reports, Activision stated,
“This time spent with our Limited Release players has proven invaluable with dozens of major updates, thousands of bugs fixed, and new content and features added..”
Pre-registration for COD: Warzone is currently open on the game’s website. Activision is offering a reward package including a skin, weapon blueprint, vinyl, and emblem for use in the game upon its launch. To claim these rewards, you must register before the March 21 release date.
