Apple has officially introduced the iPhone 15 series, featuring a range of exciting features such as a USB Type-C port, 48MP cameras, Dynamic Island, and more. However, as is customary for Apple, the battery capacity remains a well-guarded secret, and the company provided limited information about it during the event. If you’ve been curious about the battery details, we now have some insights to share. Let’s take a closer look.
Battery Details of iPhone 15
According to a Chinese regulatory listing reported by MySmartPrice, the iPhone 15 series, including the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, features slightly larger batteries compared to their predecessors in the iPhone 14 series. The battery capacities for the iPhone 15 series are as follows:
- iPhone 15: 3,349mAh battery (up from 3,279mAh in the iPhone 14)
- iPhone 15 Plus: 4,383mAh battery (up from 4,325mAh in the iPhone 14 Plus)
- iPhone 15 Pro: 3,274mAh battery (up from 3,200mAh in the iPhone 14 Pro)
- iPhone 15 Pro Max: 4,442mAh battery (up from 4,323mAh in the iPhone 14 Pro Max)
Apple has stated that the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro can provide up to 29 and 23 hours of video playback, respectively. In contrast, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus can offer up to 26 and 20 hours of video playback, respectively. These battery capacity upgrades suggest that Apple is working to improve the battery life of its new iPhone models, which is always a welcome change for users.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max has claimed the title of the “iPhone with the largest battery” this year, surpassing the iPhone 14 Plus from the previous year. It offers impressive features like 5x optical zoom capabilities, a titanium build, a USB Type-C 3.0 port, a 120Hz ProMotion display with Dynamic Island, and more. The iPhone 15 Pro, with its slightly smaller 6.1-inch display, shares these characteristics. Both iPhone 15 Pro models are equipped with the A17 Pro Bionic chipset and 8GB of RAM.
On the other hand, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays featuring Dynamic Island but no ProMotion, are powered by last year’s A16 Bionic chipset and boast a 48MP main camera. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have starting prices of Rs 79,900 and Rs 89,900, respectively.
While the iPhone 15 series is available for pre-order, it’s worth noting that shipments of the iPhone 15 Pro models have been delayed, potentially disappointing eager customers. If you’re considering purchasing one of the new iPhone 15 models, let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
