Asus is set to unveil a new ROG NUC at the upcoming CES 2024 event, promising a highly portable mini PC with substantial gaming capabilities. The revelation comes through a teaser video released by the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the company.
This marks Asus’ entry into the ROG NUC category, with the company emphasizing the device’s combination of compactness and power. While detailed specifications are still under wraps, it is confirmed that the Asus ROG NUC will be driven by Intel processors.
In 2023, Asus acquired Intel’s NUC (Next Unit of Computing) division, and as a result, we can anticipate the release of diverse NUC designs in a fresh form by Asus.
While specific details about the NUC’s specifications remain undisclosed, speculation suggests the potential use of the Intel 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh (HX chips). However, a more probable scenario is the introduction of a new Intel Core Ultra processor paired with high-performance integrated Arc graphics on the upcoming ROG NUC by Asus.
Previously, there were rumors circulating about the ROG NUC potentially featuring up to RTX 4070 graphics. The same speculation also suggests the “use of the upcoming Meteor Lake CPUs” by Asus (Via: Bits & Chips). If these rumors hold true, the ROG NUC is expected to boast impressive power. According to Asus, the official launch of the ROG NUC is scheduled for January 8th at CES 2024.
The teaser provided a glimpse of the ROG NUC’s design elements, portraying it as a formidable portable gaming device. Positioned at the top of the device is the ROG logo, and the overall exterior aligns with the gamer-centric aesthetics commonly associated with Asus’s ROG product line.
The design of the ROG NUC appears to draw inspiration from the Intel NUC 12, which was previously released by Intel. Considering all these elements, the ROG NUC holds the promise of being an impressive device.
