Apple’s IOS Roadmap Leak Reveals Early Details On IOS 26.4, IOS 27, And IOS 28

Apple’s upcoming iOS roadmap may have surfaced ahead of schedule, as internal system code has reportedly revealed early mentions of iOS 26.4. The same discovery also references future releases such as iOS 27 and even iOS 28, offering an early glimpse into Apple’s longer-term software strategy.

iOS 26.4 expected in Spring 2026

Macworld’s Filipe Espósito has uncovered an unreleased version of iOS 26, revealing Apple’s plans beyond the next major update. Based on this information, iOS 26.4 could launch in spring 2026 and may feature a significantly enhanced Siri powered by Apple Intelligence. The upgraded assistant is expected to deliver more natural conversations and better contextual understanding.

The leaked details also point to a refreshed Health app, which could support the introduction of an AI-based health assistant. This redesign may further hint at Apple exploring a new Health+ subscription service in the future.

Additional features rumored for iOS 26.4 include credit card AutoFill compatibility within third-party apps, new folder support in Freeform to improve content organization, and a dedicated sports-focused content layer inside the Apple TV app. Apple is also reportedly experimenting with a more robust Apple ID verification system aimed at preventing access from jailbroken or otherwise compromised devices.

The leaked information further suggests that development is already in progress for iOS 27. Planned updates may include enhancements to the Photos app’s collections layout, along with a more seamless and faster AirPods pairing process. These changes indicate Apple’s continued emphasis on usability improvements beyond the iOS 26 release cycle.

Looking further into the future, references to iOS 28 point toward broader health-related upgrades across Apple’s ecosystem. This could include additional sleep-tracking insights for Apple Watch users and, potentially, the long-anticipated arrival of the Health app on macOS.

Although none of these features have been officially confirmed, the leak provides an unusually in-depth look at Apple’s multi-year iOS roadmap. As usual, Apple is expected to unveil its major software updates at WWDC, with interim releases like iOS 26.4 acting as gradual steps toward larger platform evolutions.
