After the introduction of the iOS 17.1 update featuring enhancements for AirDrop and Apple Music, Apple has now rolled out the iOS 17.1.1 update to address significant bugs. Alongside this, updates for iPadOS (17.1.1) and watchOS (10.1) have also been released.
What’s New in the iOS 17.1.1 Update?
The iOS 17.1.1 update primarily addresses two issues. The first bug was related to the incorrect display of snow on the weather widget for the lock screen.
The second bug affected the iPhone 15 series (including iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max), causing Apple Pay and other NFC features to be unavailable after wireless charging in some BMW cars. This issue has now been resolved.
In addition to these fixes, the update likely includes improvements related to Wi-Fi connectivity and resolves issues with unexpected device shutdowns. While there are no new features introduced in the iOS 17.1.1 update, it is recommended to keep devices updated for privacy and security reasons.
The iOS 17.1.1 update is now available for the iPhone 11 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone 14 series, and iPhone 15 series. Users can navigate to Settings -> General -> Software Update to download and install the update.
Additionally, Apple is currently testing the iOS 17.2 update, which is expected to introduce features such as the Journal app, new widgets, a translation option for the iPhone 15 Pro models’ Action button, and more. While the release date for iOS 17.2 has not been specified, it is anticipated to be available by the end of the year. Stay tuned for further updates, and in the meantime, make sure to keep your iPhone up to date with the latest iOS 17.1.1 version.
